WHAT THERE IS TO KNOW :
Asbestos is a natural mineral in which there are two main families :

the serpentines (composed of chrysotile)
and amphiboles (composed of amosite, la crocidolite …).
This material, very dangerous in case of inhalation of fiber dust, was banned in France on July 1 1997, both for marketing and use. Asbestos laws and decrees are used to regulate work in contact with asbestos. They protect and they inform , so, people on the dangers of asbestos.

THEY IMPOSE :
Attachment of a pre-sales report, to any preliminary contract and contract for the sale of a building or part of a built building for which the building permit was issued before July 1 1997.
The production of an Asbestos Technical File (DTA) by any owner of a built building (other than individual residential building) whose building permit was issued before July 1 1997. This (DTA) must be available on request from the keeper.
Carrying out a diagnosis before / after work or before demolition, covering the entire area affected by the work or demolition, to any owner of a built building, whose building permit was issued before July 1 1997, and wishing to carry out work or demolition on the building. This diagnostic report must indicate the location, the presence or absence of asbestos and the state of degradation of materials and products, and must be provided to the intervening company.
